Hey everybody,
I made a couple minor changes (with the help of Jeremiah Rounds) to my TwilightFest entry, "Analog," and entered it in a new festival.

It was just accepted and now it's online for viewing/voting. So... if you've got a few minutes, I'd really appreciate you voting on it - or at least taking a look at it.
Here's the link: Analog (final cut)

The voting process is a bit of a pain (more on that in next post), so I understand completely if you don't have the time, but... you could be helping a fellow DVXuser with a chance at $30,000 to make another short... So there's that... which is nice.

Details on the fest, voting, prizes, if you're interested:

Fest: Doorpost Film Festival
Some people have had some beef with this fest and probably rightfully so. There are two big problems: one, the entry fee is pretty steep; and two, they want exclusive rights to show the entered films online for a long period of time.
Pretty big drawbacks, but I decided the potential rewards were worth it.

Prizes
They admitted 100 films into the first round. From here, it gets narrowed down to ten films. The producers of each of those ten will be given a $30,000 grant to produce another short. Those will then compete against each other for a $100,000 grand prize.

Voting
The voting procedure they've implemented is perhaps a bit over-ambitious and might push a lot of voters away, but I think it's a pretty good idea.
The voter has to first register, then rank a film on seven different categories, then do the same on 4 other randomly selected films before any of the vote is counted.
This ends up being pretty time-consuming, but I think it helps get accurate ratings and diminishes the possibility of a popularity contest.

Anyway, if you've got the time and would like to help me out by voting, I'd be super appreciative. I'd really like this chance to make a short on a real-ish budget.

Thanks!

Quick note on voting.
The most seamless way to vote seems to be the following:

- Go to www.thedoorpost.com
- Click on the big pink "Voting Now Open" button.
- Sign-in/register (i know; sorry)
- Search for "analog" in the search box at the top or go to www.thedoorpost.com/forgiveness/analog
- Watch and vote.

(so, basically: bump... but seriously, it would be very, very cool if you guys could help me out with this! Thanks!)

Well, I will definitely vote for it :) I wish you had sent me a PM though, I had no idea where to go to vote :(
