My name is Joe, I'm turning 22 years old in a couple of weeks and am (hopefully) soon to graduate from a university film course. I've been trying to specialize in sound design but am looking towards cinematography as well. Currently on the look out for a good camera so I can start work on some personal projects (with any luck I can grab a GH2) and besides that I'm just a regular guy who ambitiously enough, would like to have a job in films, television or radio. Nice to meet you all.

Hi, from Canada... regarding your choice of camera.

I would recommend you take a quick look at the AG-AF100A, given your interest in 4/3.

I don't have a 100A - my work is commercial training videos, stage events and the occasional documentary and, for this, I chose the AG-AC160A which is a 1/3 fixed-lens camcorder.

I took one year to select this camcorder and am very pleased with my choice.

If you do decide to look at the 100A - ask people who own it, some like it a lot, some do not. If you decide the fit is right for you, you might be able to get a used 100A at a good price.

Thanks to everyone else for the welcomes! Regarding kwkeirstead about that camera, it's not a real option for me at the moment given it's price tag but I'm going to research it as a potential future camera for when I've got more money coming in. Thanks very much

Certainly would be useful for potential equipment and talent sharing.
I recently signed up to Meet Up, but the filmmaking groups on there seem to be filled with people who have no equipment or knowledge in the most part.

So how do we ask the moderators for a a UK forum, actually being British it should be "a Club" :-)
