Hi all,
I've been a regular post reader for about 6 months now and figured it was about time I participated. Let me first just say I think all things considered, this this the most civil and helpful board on the internet. This site is fantastic because of some seriously talented people willing to help out others. It's beautiful man.
Anyways, here is a teaser trailer I threw together this morning of my senior thesis film at UW-Milwaukee. It's called Whisky & Heather. http://www.minnefilms.com/Whisky & HeatherTeaser.htm It was shot with the DVX100A.

Thanks,
Christopher Heubach

Hey, Christopher!

Welcome aboard.

Nice bit of filmmaking! Is this to be a feature-length when you're done with it?

And thanks for spelling "Whisky" correctly. :-) Bet you can't guess which entry to the May/June DVXFest was shot in front of my Scotch collection...

Nice work! When can we see the rest of it?

Thanks Doug,

It's actually a twelve minute short film that i'm trying to make a very presentable 10 minute film. I was wondering how fast it would take someone to comment on the spelling (the films plot revolves around a night of "learning" about Scotch, but the trailer doesn't explicitly show Scotch. You have a keen eye.
Anyways I hope to send it it to a few festivals if I can finish an edit I'm happy with. I saw a documentary on Maya Deyren once, and she quoted a filmmaking friend of hers, "You never finish a piece of work, you only abandon it." Words that are ringing true to this project of mine. Hopefully I will be finishing (abandoning) it by the end of August. (I've got alot on my plate right now) Thanks for the kind words.

Abandonment!

Truer words were never spoken. I have a ton of projects which I fully intend to tweak "just one more time" to get it "just right".... heh....

As a creator we always see the little flaws that we know we can make a little better, but as a nurse friend of mine once told me...

"Better" is the enemy of "Good."

See you around the forums, and let us know when the final version is done!

What do you mean by "NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"?

Is this in response to my trailer or to the quote or what? Please explain.

okay, despite seeing many concepts far too simlar to this, I thought the trailer was too slow. It could be the ticking music. Your choice of text could be better. hmm, but I'd be down to see it when you're done. Keep doing what you're doing!

thanks for the notes so far

As far as the broken link is concerned, it might be that you don't have flash installed? If so I have added a quicktime version direct link here

I don't think the quality is as good as the flash version but I'm still learning compression.
