Helicopter testing

This is a short montage that we shot this past Friday of the Getty Museum here in L.A..
It was shot handheld. Hopefully we will be doing more next week.

pretty damned smooth for handheld. were you using one of those gyro stabilizers or anything?

This was the second test. I modified a shoulder mount that I had from my Canon XL-1 days, shot through a century optics .75 wide angle, ois engaged, monitor for the pilot and let the chopper do the work. I picked Steve from Digital Island's brain as well, he had some nice chopper shots.
Unfortunately we were going to shoot more of L.A., downtown and such, but the fires smoked us out.
Hopefully we will be shooting all of our stuff within the next two weeks.
