heavy metal video

I like the transition from teh school to the band. I like teh concept too. haha great end with that little girl.

Great video. Actually such a good video you made me want to see the conclusion to the kid. You opened with him walking to the front and then rocking out. I was hoping for the song to end, the video returning to the classroom, and the classroom in silence, and the kid standing in a room of destruction.
oh well.

Awesome video.

Hi,
Tried to watch the video. Get the sound, but white screen.
Any suggestions?

Tried to refresh, but no go. Oddly enough, I went to the main site and just clicked on the Doyle Lawson video and it played fine, but still when I clicked on Bombs Away, just sound with white screen. Odd.

Hated the song, but that was frickin bad ass man. The lighting in the school was awesome. Great editing. What'd you use for the effects? TIm.

i was definitely feeling it, but like slimothy, want to know how you did some of the shake effects. nice work!

Great work! Great concept! Fantastic editing!

Loved it...

thanks for the comments!

I use FCP and After Effects. The shaking in the video was a combination of a plugin called earthquake from DigiEffects and some in camera moves. I had the camera on a jib and actually shake the camera....I know I know, probably not the best idea to do with a $6,000 camera, but I'm a risk taker and will do almost anything to get the shot!

Great vid! :) I would like to hear what kind of lighting setup you were having there in the school? Thanks.

We had some cool natural lighting from the sunlight spilling into cracks of broken shades. I threw up a couple of arri 650's in the back of the room, along with a FL-220 Flolight (http://www.flolight.com/products.htm) going through the back of the children's head for highlights. An FL-110 was hitting the teacher and kid actor.

I had another arri 650 diffused just off to the side with a yellow gel and cookie cutter splashed on the chalkboard to give some flavor. It was all trial and error, but I was happy with the results. I consider myself a work in progress with lighting, I've never been formerly trained, just picked up a few tricks here and there.
