Heat related issue?.?

I spent the last couple of days shooting pavement at a local airport. It was nearly 100 degrees. At the end of the day the camera started having focus problems as if the back focus was way out. I could zoom in and get manual focus then pull out and everything went soft. I was able to switch to AF mode and maintain focus but the corresponding viewfinder numbers were way off like showing macro for a subject 8 -10 ft. away.
Has anyone else had a similar issue?
Any suggestions on a good servicer for the DVX ?

it sound slike a heat condition is it not or humid or what plus going from a hot area to an ac condition to fast can for or damage internal parts.

It's almost certainly a heat issue. As the camera heats up the optics literally expand. While some correction is built into the system (I presume) you can only correct for so much expansion. That would be my guess. See if you can focus normally once the camera cools down.

100 dgs is not that hot. i'm sure there are many people out there shooting in much hotter conditions.

Anyway it may be just a condensation problem maybe? this could easily happen if you jump fast from hot to cold or viceversa. remember that this may even damage the camera.

we use DVC80's (the DVX's long lost non 24p clone) here at work in Arizona. We routinely leave them out in the heat at last week it got to 115 deg. No problems (yet) :)
