Headphones for field recording? What r u using?

My Sony MDR-Q55s headphones are about shot, and I'm trying to find a solid pair of headphones for field recording. I really hate long cords, and most headphones use bad cabling (the MDR-Q55's use a special cord tangle free cord that allows you to unplug the first 1' when you are close to the camera). I'm not worried about paying more for a decent headset, but would like to have some flexibility in the cord length.

What is the concensus on headphones? Does everyone just put up with huge cord length or is there some trick to shortening the cord (obviously I can use a hair tie or rubber band, but wondered if there's something else I'm missing here). I sort of like the MDR-7505's but with a 7' cord (!) that seems like asking for trouble.

Thanks in advance.

The MDR-750x headphones are all you need. I've never had a problem with cords. Sometimes you need the length. If you don't, tie it. I've just never seen any reason to consider that a problem, but I could be alone in that.

MDR-7506 are an industry favorite. I have two sets, one of which has been running strong for about 15 years.
