Headphone Monitoring...

Ok, I have had my cameras for like 20 hours so far. I have barely even messed with one of them.

Anyways, my question:
Is there a way, if I have external microphones hooked up, to only monitor that sound. I don't want to hear the on-board microphone. I won't want it in post, and it is noisy when operating the zoom and focus rings. Is there a way to not hear that when monitoring with my headphones.

Turn it off by using the Mic Input select switches

Oh. I must not have been doing something right. I was screwing with that with a lavalier mic, but... ahh well.
