HDx35 B4 to PL Lens Adpater $1500
It is awesome to use ENG/EFP B4 mount video zoom lenses on 35mm sensor cameras. This fantastic HDx35 adapter lets you do just that. It is a secret weapon that brings fast and flexible documentary style shooting to digital cinema cameras like the F3/F5/F55 and anything that has a PL mount.
This is stunning high-quality glass. And this a low use adapter in great shape.
The HDx35 is an optical doubler (2.7x) with a 2.5 stop light loss, for use with the ARRI ALEXA, Phantom HD Gold (1920x1080), RED One, Epic – (all 4K formats), Sony SRW-9000PL, PMW-F3, Fs100 and many others.
The adapter turns the B4 lens into a longer focal length lens, so that the relative depth of field expected for the larger sensor is achieved, while the usual field of view when the lens is mounted to a 2/3” camera is maintained.
HDx35 adapters optically correct for the different spectral alignments between three-chip prism block sensors, for which the B4-mount lenses were designed, and the single sensor of the large sensor cameras.
They are highly telecentric in design, delivering a bright, sharp image across the entire frame with excellent color and contrast. There is very little or no distortion. There is very little or no softening. Performance is really based of the optical performance of the HD ENG lens you attach to the adapter.
The light loss is simply not an issue on today’s fast cameras, especially if shooting outside.
