HDV Transfer

Have shot some stuff on Hdv and need to transfer it to editing. any other way apart from the camera? I have a dv deck but it only captures sound when i put in tape.
 
The HVX200 doesn't understand HDV. You'll need an actual HDV camera or deck, possibly having to match it to the camera that recorded the tape because there are multiple HDV flavors.
 
If you transferred all of your p2 data to miniDV, then just capture it as regular DV video using the camera or a pro mini dv deck...
 
If you wrote to tape in the HVX, it's simple DV, not HDV. Any HD recorded to P2 cards and dubbed to tape gets downsampled to DV25.
 
Well when I playback to tape and try to capture it from tape deck it doesnt work (only sound is captured no pic) but when i do it from camera it does. Another issue I am having is merging my hdv footage and P2 footage. Cause when i bring the hdv footage on the P2 timeline it compresses it and the video needs to be streched to match with the hvx
 
thats because its not HDV footage. the Tape footage from the HVX is DV. not HDV. it will stretch it because its Standard definition, being imported into a High definition timeline.
