HDV Tapes

Hi people

Do HDV tapes vary depending on where in the world you purchased them?

I've got a Sony HVR Z1E -- about to do some filming in the US, and was going to purchase some Sony Digital Master tapes in the UK, but they are cheaper in the US, so I was thinking perhaps just buying them when I'm out there...

Will this work (I don't want to do it and realise I have messed up when the tapes don't work)

hmmm. I buy my stock at filmtools or edgewise here in Los Angeles. I get HDV tapes on occassion, but for most shoots I get standard sony high grade DV tapes. They work both PAL and NTSC, and I rarely get glitches. That never really became the problem people said it would
