Hey Guys - I just got the Vegas Pro 11 and now going over the setting. I was wondering what setting seem to work best with the 5d mkiii? Any feedback would be great.

Sorry, project setting in Vegas for Example: Video temple HD1080-60i (1920x1080), Pixel format: 8-bit, motion blur type Gaussian etc.... Audio, ruler, summary, audio CD. I'm shooting either 1920x30 ALL-I or 1920x24 ALL-I I still see issues and think I may not have Vegas 11 setup right. I have been filming on the HVX200 so I use Raylight for those footage. I heard that Vegas 11 is suppose to handle DSLR footage much better then Vegas 9.

I use the movie studio version of Vegas and have a GH1 so my setting may not be the best for your situation but I'll give you my two cents, hopefully it helps.

Ok this is for Project settings and this works well for 1080i and 720 60 FPS video combined.

Width 1920 (or 1280)
Height 1080 (or 720, depends what you plan to render it out as)
Field order: None (progressive scan)
Pixel aspect 1.000 (unless you are shooting anamorphic)
Frame rate 29.97 (NTSC) most of my stuff is for youtube and 60FPS are not preserved once uploaded. And I don't really care for 24 FPS.

Render quality: Best (always)
Deinterlace method: Interpolate, I feel interpolate is almost always the best. it basically splits the difference and puts a double image in the middle rather then blends it which can give an ugly double image. But it depends on what you are going for, some people want the motion blur visible in a slower moving scene.

Audio: (I don't think this matter much)
Master bus: Stereo
Sample rate, 44,100 (but 48,000 is fine, I can't notice a difference)
bit depth: 16
Resample quality: best (pretty much always pick best if that's a option on anything)

Ruler: I use SMPTE non-drop but it's just what I'm use to seeing.

Now some other important setting are actually when you right click on a video clip on the timeline and hit properties.

There are two tabs, "Video event" and "Media". See the resample settings. With 60 FPS videos, setting resample to "disable" can make the video look much sharper. It basically throws away one of the frames in 60FPS video clips, rather then trying to combine the two frames to make a 30 FPS video. Also any 60 FPS video clips you have try changing the playback rate to .5 for that surreal dream look.

And with 1080i videos under the media tab you need the field order upper or lower. If you set it for "none" you will see a double image from the interlaced scan.

Hope this helps.
