I know this is forum is for video, so if this needs to be removed, I understand.

I am curious if anyone has tried the HDR mode for stills?

I am not having any luck with it. Has anyone found the HDR mode to be a sucessful way to
achieve this look for stills?

I have tried shooting HDR using both A and S priority modes and I can't achieve the "HDR look"
under either setting. I have done tests using the -1 to +1 to the -3 to +3 settings.

Are there any "tricks" to achieiving good HDR shots with the GH3? I have on Auto Alignment as well.
Would love to see some samples.

I have tried it and it works. Just do comparison shots and you will see. The look is not very strong colors normally associated with HDR; more subtle, which I prefer myself. What I don't like is that it requires jpeg, I prefer raw shooting and using a program to combine the raw files... Al

Have you found certain settings/lighting to be better than others for HDR? For example, what Fstop and/or time of day? Interior or Exterior?

Have not used it extensively. I would only consider it when the scene has broad areas of shadows and areas that are bright; the scene needs to be pretty static, of course. I'd probably stick to shooting raw and processing HDR outside the camera, using +/- clips; although I have defined C3 to set the camera for HDR when I want to try it... Al
