As ii understand the hdmi in the GH1 dos'n function while recording.

But doe's it giving a full HD out while not recording?

and if so, is there any option to get it with display off?

cause if so, i can record the HD signal into a NANOHLASH.

Composite out is possible in live-view mode. HDMI out is only limited to playback moment. There are no other news at the moment.

the only thing that I know of is that the guys bringing us the tester13 hack are still working on it and it's a possibility for them hacking live hdmi OUT in a future hack update

SD out only in live view mode via the AV cord.

You have to have the LCD on and a memory card inserted.

Open the LCD, press display, hold down the trash button for 10 seconds then and image will pop up.

It's ok for framing focusing.

I doubt you will ever see hdmi during record with a hack, hardware just is not there.

Rambo, do you know of a decent portable monitor that supports both SD component and HDMI inputs that does not cost more than camera? Perhaps we should get one to Vitaliy.

I just used a good quality 7" external DVD monitor that comes with car kits (12v).

I know i'm not the only one having issues on nailing focus, it's not always possible to use the EVF, so a 7" SD monitor working in record mode would be help heeps. This is probably the single biggest user issue i'm having with the GH1 (13). No point in extra data rates if you can't nail focus.

Yup, same here. I guess it's a given when stepping out of "everything in focus" world of video cams to "cinematic" focus of hybrids. Operator skills become critical! With that said it would be great for operator to have some decent tools to assist with the new challenging task. How about SD/HDMI out showing "focus assist" view and LCD / viewfinder showing overall frame? One can dream ...

Slightly offtopic question. Do you have a sister whose name is Bar? ;)
