GH2 hdmi issue

I have been shooting the GH2 at 720P, ingesting the footage into FCP and using cinema tools to
create slo mo (60 fps in a 24fps timeline). However when I monitor the image while shooting using the HDMI output, the camera records at 30 fps not 60. Has anyone else notice this or am I doing something wrong. Also I notice that you have to remove the HDMI cable to change some of the settings.

When you plug in the HDMI cable, it disables 720p mode. It also disables the ETC crop mode. If you unplug the cable, change the setting and then plug the cable back in, you're just fooling yourself -- those features will still be disabled whenever the cable is plugged in.

is the solution then to shoot 1080i/60 - deinterlace, then conform? or just not use HDMI at all when aiming for 60fps

If you want 720/60p, you cannot plug in the HDMI, period.

If you absolutely need monitoring, and you also want 60fps, your only choice at that point would be 1080/60i and just pooch half your res...
