Hi guys,

I have been playing with GH4 Vlog-L 10bit for some times since I just got the Vlog from Jan.
Been wondering do the cheap cables will have problems to carry the 10bit signal.

Below is the simple test I did.
Setup using single diffused light and on dark room and a angled whiteboard.
The testing is to test the banding between 8bit and 10bit signal. (I think this is the simplest way to know if the recorded signal from the GH4 is 8bit or 10bit)
GH4 using Vlog-L and out of focus on the white board on purpose.

I apply some heavy grade to make the banding more visible. (all clips using the same grades)

The banding is less visible after jpg compression, But still can see them. When playing in video in premiere, it will be very visible on the 8bit clips.

As the result, the cheap cables even with a dirt cheap adapter still carry 10bit with no problems.
