HDMI Cable Limitations

I've always had trouble with HDMI cables. I honestly don't think they're as bad as some say, but for me the real annoyance is how stiff they are. They're not really made for short runs so much. Can anyone suggest some really good HDMI cables that are a lot easier to manage around a camera setup? What I mean by that is it's long enough to reach from the camera to the typical distance of an external on-board monitor, but it's bendy enough to be hooked in without stressing the output.

Does something like that exist? I have an AF100 and GH2 and I find myself always really nervous about my HDMI cables and how I have to sorta move them to get my monitor all setup.

Is there an ideal length out there most of you prefer to use? It's annoying having the loop of the HDMI cable just sorta sticking out all weird-like. HDSDI is always an option but I need something for my GH2 as well.

There are right angle connector versions that can be used on the monitor to dress the cable directly down. That helps some. There are cables with flex joints at the connector. I wouldn't trust the flex joint ones. They have bad reviews.

I use a 1.5'cable with a right angle on the monitor and dress it down. For the AF-100, I clamp the cable to the rig to help prevent accidental pulls in the wrong direction that might hurt the connections. I'm thinking of making some sort of guard that comes off the rig to prevent any possibility of someone bumping into the cable or connector and doing damage.

I have been waiting for somebody to ask.
This is the best, its so good you don't even know its HDMI.
It's 1.8 meter and it does not show:

Its the smallest they get and it holds up to, use it with my DP6 and it winds up my camera like a thin string.

Well, it makes using HDMI fun and light hearted :)
