HD100u and Vegas 6.0c

Is anyone using the HD100u with Vegas 6.0c? I just got my new JVC (my first experience with HD) and am trying to capture the footage with the Vegas internal capture engine. Everytime I try to capture it crashes. I shot the footage in HDV 30. I tried to capture on 2 seperate machines and I get the same hard lock. I did try the Connect HD trial software and it does capture but is a little flakey too. Any ideas? One thing I will say is my first impression of this camera is outstanding. The test footage I did capture today was phenominal but I want to get Vegas to capture. Any help would be greatly appreciated. FYI, I'm running dual 3.0 ghz P4, 1gb ram, 10k serial ATAs, newest drivers, etc...

For some strange reason (for me) I lauch the external browser first and then close it.

Then capture with the internal app. It almost as if the external capture turns on plugins or dll for the internal app to work.

You will probably get wierd syncing problems if you have a slow hard drive.

The Connect HD is much better to work with but it will crash if you have stop start record indexs close to each other. Unfortunately the best way to capture is to turn the create new file index off.

This will give you one big file to splice but it won't give you any problems.

What do you mean by closing the external browser? I tried shutting down everything but the capture app but it still crashes... I just downloaded the trial to Edius and will see how that goes. Problem is I love Vegas. I just wish the capture worked.
