In case anyone hasn't seen the full specs yet;

And a PDF version of Showreel/Newsreel Magazines XD supplement with more info on the camera. (and yes although it was sponsored by Sony this was produced independently of them before anyone accuses me of working for them!)

I could be wrong, but my current thinking has this camera as a replacement in a HD lineup for the discontinued DSR250. We shall see.

First link doesn't work.

What's the MSRP? I heard someone say $25,000 without lens -- is that accurate? Or is it $25,000 including lens? Either way, seems like it can't be a direct replacement for the DSR250, as that was $6500...

IMO, this is certainly not a "DSR250 replacement." The DSR250 isn't NEAR the same class of camera as a DSR300/500, etc. It's a brand new product family for Sony. And a new product CLASS for Sony. NEVER have they produced such an EXOTIC MID-line camera of this caliber.

We had 2 of the SD XDCAM cameras when I was still in Corporate Comm. at a company here in VA.

They were sweet and produced beautiful images.
