HD uprez

Hey. Is there a specific 'workflow' to 'Instant HD' from Redgiant? Or is it as easy as dumping the footage and hitting the button? Before I buy it I want to make sure it's worth it. Thanks!

For what it's worth - Instant HD seems to work in Vegas if you have BorisFX (the full version). I haven't done a lot of testing - but it seems to work.

download the trial, its pretty cool. i am waiting to get my package from panasonic from their rebate offer.

Which BorisFX program lets it work in Vegas? Theres a bunch on the site... I really want to get it to work in Vegas lol... Have you done any 4:3 letterbox to 16:9 widescreen uprezing in Instant HD? If you have any available Instant HD footage... Can you please post it? (I'm still waiting for my DVX rebate stuff to be sent...)

I have BorisFX 9 for the PC. I just got it, so I haven't had time to do much testing. I uprezed some junk files I had to HD and it seemed to work fine. Sorry, I don't have anything to post. I didn't get BorisFX in order to use Instant HD - I just noticed that they claimed that it could be used with Vegas to use Aftereffects plugins and I got curious and decided to try Instant HD.

Boris® Graffiti LTD Software -- Is this a program that comes with Vegas? Can I use Instant HD in Vegas if I have that program?

I have it. I am sorry to say it ; but the truth is it's the same like magnifying your footage. Yes, it does it more intelegently. I can still spot real HD and fake HD footage. To be honest I hardly use it. I found out that my footage looks better without it. This to me is just another program out there that is trying to confuse people into sticking to SD. The truth is I can't afford the HVX; but I rather save my money, so I can by one soon; instead of buying any prog that claims it can match it. Then again maybee that's just me.

First to the original post. Basically you do all your editing cuts in the SD format. Everything you would normally do say before an output.

Second you export your timeline as the finished clip.

Third you create a new project in the size that you want the finished to be e.g. 720 or 1080.

Fourth, you apply the instand HD filter to the clip, matching the sequence settings.

Lastly, output.

Tend to agree.

once u have the dvx and want to go to hd, wouldnt u be better just going andromeda?

Personally I dont think so. The andromeda footage looks awesome, but at this end of the budget spectrum, being so tethered for every shot sounds seriously limiting.

I have used PhotoZoom pro with decent results. It uprezzes everything though, so if you have SD size grain and uprez you get bigger sized grain so the image should be really well lit and clean.

hmmm, thats funny because there download version (redgaint HD) shows footage that uprizes great. LIARS. down with them. lol
