HD TV audio out of sync...

I couldn't find the right forum for this, so I apologize if I missed it:

We just got a package with Cox (local cable provider out here), and they came and installed it. But, the audio is out of sync with the video and it's driving me up a WALL. I have the Coax into the box, and HDMI out. There's maybe 2 or 3 frames difference in the audio and video. My wife kinda sees it. I see nothing BUT that. I'm going crazy. Is there something I'm missing? I have the Cable option selected to HDMI out for audio. No dice, though. If I use a coax cable instead, will the HD signal not be as clear? It's very frustrating, and I don't understand why this would happen.

Oh dude, no! Don't do that, stick with the HDMI! Well, switch it out and see for yourself.

As for the syncing issues, I don't know what to tell you. Milage may vary from station to station, is everything out of sync across the board?

It's maddening. I see spots out of sync all the time on our news station, but the programming is in sync.

I went to an HD seminar a couple years ago and I remember a speaker was talking about quality control and syncing issues (his job was to QC) and he said he was so obsessed he couldn't even tell if a program was synced or not. Maybe he's in an asylum now, that could drive anyone insane.

So......I hope you're enjoying your new TV!
