HD Simple Bleach Bypass

Just tweaking a simple bleach bypass method I came up with for an upcoming WWII short. A combination of blending modes, brightness/contrast, levels & B+W. Thoughts, comments?

DM, I export BMP from Premiere Pro 2, at 1440, with square pixels then bring them into photoshop and scale them down and resave as .jpeg with maximum quality, progressive...Though, most of it is just having a clean picture to start with.

Bleach Bypass is a method which alters film during the development process. For video, plug-ins like Magic Bullet and Film Look Pro offer "Bleach Bypass" effects which desaturate and manipulate the image, but I decided I could get something closer to what I wanted if I just did it myself...So I did. For professional bleach bypass, check out what Janusz Kaminski did on Saving Private Ryan.

This is definitely an example for everyone who says that you can't get a film look from the FX1. Absolutely gorgeous.

Wow that was some seriously great looking fx1 footage! Was this the fx1 by itself or did you use an 35mm adapters with it?
