HD-SDI output to monitor/nano

This is a really dumb question, but exactly what type of HD SDI cable do I use to output to a Monitor or Nano? I'm guessing it's a RG59 at 75ohm VS a RG58 at only 50 ohm... Does it matter?

Thanks!!

for this short distance both should do, but correct is the 75ohm cable .... you could try to get a sdi patch cable

A 75 ohm cable has better pass through. From what I understand 75ohm barely does it, but its the best at this time. My only recording failure with my Nano was because a cable.
I used a Comprehensive 50 ohm cable, it didn't work. Go to www.nanoflash.net , they sell cables there (not very expensive BTW). They can also do custom lenghts. I believe they use
Canare 75 ohm cable, I have had ZERO failures.

Dear Friends,

Please use a high-quality True 75 Ohm cable with True 75 Ohm BNC connectors.

HD-SDI is 1.485 Gbps (gigabits per second). Bad cables can cause problems.

We also specifcally do not want you to use 50 Ohm cables and connectors.

I have heard, but not confirmed, that some 50 Ohm cables can damage a 75 Ohm BNC connector.
This may be true or may not be true. But 75 Ohm cables are avaialable and should be used.

Please excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't any typical production BNC video cable work?

For short distances, one may be able to use almost any 75 Ohm cable with 75 Ohm connectors.

For long distances, one must used very good cable and connectors.

HD-SDI with the proper cable can go hundreds of feet.
