I'm looking at getting either a HVX200E, HVX201AE, or a HPX171. I already have an Ikan800HDe LCD monitor that has an Component In supposedely for HD content.

I want to get the best HD image quality i can into the Ikan monitor from the camera so which cables would i need to get and using what connectors on each of the cameras i specified?

The answers will help me in deciding which to get,
thanks.

Ah right, thanks. I wasn't aware that the cameras had red/green/blue outputs or do they use a different type of connector plug for RGB?

If your monitor has either HDMI or SDI ports I would suggest using either one
of those. This will give you the highest resolution from the cam to your monitor.
If not, as Steve said, use the component cable that comes with your camera.

I have the HPX-170 and use the SDI (Serial Digital Interface) connection. Image
is beautiful on my Marshall V-LCD70P-3GSDI. Bear in mind, you will have to select
the SDI out inside the menu of your HPX-170 under the AV Settings.

Good luck.

whichever version of R+G+B cable that comes with your camera will have the required connector to connect it to the ikan. what you will need are 3 rca to bnc adapters - like $1 each at your local radioshack
