HD or not HD that is NOT the question

I have read every thread on this forum for the last 7 months. When there was discussion about the "CCD pixel count" of the HVX200 a lot of people said "ooohhhw it is not important at all the image quality (rez charts !!!) will justify the HD marking on the cam. Now it turns out that the rez of the HVX is way below 720. So maybe we can get an official reaction from Panasonic (was the test not carried out the wayit should have vben done, where are the Panasonic rez charts from the HVX200)? Maybe next shipment of HVX200 will come without the HD marking on the body. To be honest I am very verydisapointed after such a long wait and at the moment I am thinking of skipping this whole generation of HD cams untill the technology has matured.

Well, there was no doubt extreme talent performed these tests.

It does make one wonder how good quality control is.

I do hope Panasonic has strict control of final picture quality.

Jan where are you???

Jan where are you???

Jan C.L. : Can you give your opinion about the outcome of the test conducted by your friend Barry??? You always told when the cam was not out and people were harashing you about the CCD pixel count that the final image would settle this issue. Jan I have appreciate your comments always very much so what do you think when the test suggests that the rez. is only about 540*540 ???

Sorry, dude!

As with any equipment purchase, this is always a good idea if you don't really need it.

I agree with Wabbit. Some of the threads on the HVX have been ridiculous. People should just wait and see footage and judge it from that rather than some spec. Adam Wilt answered this similar question at dvinfo. Are we film makers/ videographers or are we engineers?

Jan get well soon, health is most important part in life.
Still hope that the rez test should have come out better for the HVX.

Wabbit if you can not handle this go home and start filming. That will be better than placing people in to bad day light.
