HD mini dv tapes

anyone have any info on these tapes ? i have an HVX200. i can't record to mini dv tape at 720 or 1080 can i ? :(
 
HDV record to any MiniDV tape. The companies market HD tapes because they are "better" and can therefore charge more.

Since your HVX doesn't record using the HDV codec, there is no point for you to get these tapes. You can record SD only through the MiniDV deck on the HVX.
 
In any case I would recommend using the Panasonic Advanced Master Quality tape. It's the best of the best.

They are off-white with a grey tape door. They also have AMQ at the end of the part number.

i will look into these tapes. do you recommend using other media in an HVX200 like Sony or JVC media ?
 
I 2nd the Panny advanced master tapes. Amazing tapes and they do not get drop outs. I know as I have many several years old that have been pretty abused and I haven't gotten any dropouts.

The biggest thing though is stay away from sony tapes on panny cameras. Bad news.
 
ok...the studio cameras i operate (JVC) uses Sony stuff all the time. i will check into the AMQ tapes from panasonic.....
