HD is Dead

But I recon it will be much sooner then 8 years!

Honestly: me too... but I want to be cautious with statements in public...

Perhaps in 4 years ANY new PC will be able to render and edit HD in realtime. You just click for the (today) complex operations and as soon as you release the mousebutton from the "click" , your operation is done.

@dj200423: you don't have to thank, but I have to apologize for having had to correct you. Perhaps anybody will correct me, by showing an even earlier date of first HDTV (probably with its source for research).

Oh! Oh! Oh! I saw something, somewhere, sometime ago! It talked about the first ever TV to be high definition. 200 lines of resolution!!! OK! So it was in the early medieval days of TV!

And when you say "medieval" this reminds me on a system: it had "full-resolution" this means: as many lines as nature has... the screens were monochrom: black and white but the picture was much sharper than HDTV and people called it "silhouettes on a white sheet" and it worked with any light source.....

In china they used especially sharp cut figures to hold with thin sticks close to the linen. Spectators sat in front of the linen whilst the playing and light source was behind it. That was in the Han-Dynasty (from 141 to 87 before Christ). The name of this system was Pi’ying’xi ,

chinese: Pi = pergament, Ying = shadow, Xi = theater

And believe it or not - the above details are true! Any chinese speaking man or native chinese will agree with these details. So this system is more than 2100 years old! Monochrome, but a hell of resolution!

The way LCD sizes are growing every year, it's only a matter of time when they're wall sized. The resolution will be handy.

Actually, that already exists. Celine Dion's theater in Vegas has three huge screens behind the stage to display landscapes, backdrops, etc . . .
