HD interlaced or SD progressive

ONE MORE FRAME

New member
Hi!!
After a lot of time being a passive member of this community (thank you to all of you for your indirect help  ) is time to make a question:

What is better for a footage that need a lot of postproduction work (chroma, masks, color corrections...) an interlaced HD camera or a progressive SD camera?

I suppose that an HD camera, but I am not sure.

And if the footage in HD is native (DVC-PRO HD via firewire) and the SD is uncompressed (Beta Digital via SDI)?

Thanks a lot in advance for your helps (especialy you, Barry, master of DVX users) and sorry for my english from Spain. :lipsrseal

Ey!!!
Nobody knows the answer? Well, I try to be more precise.

For a short film with a lot of chroma keys we have 2 options availables:

*DVCPRO-HD: 1080 native (via firewire) and progressive. It is a format with a compression of 6.7:1 (more than DV but with a bigger size.
*BETA DIGITAL: Uncompressed (via SDI) and progressive. It is a format with only 2:1 of compression but, of course, is more little than HD.

We prefer HD, for its resolution and because native is less heavy than Beta Digital uncompressed, but, is it a good option to make chroma keys?

Thanks

I think you will fint the HD to be the better looking option. It may end up being a little more work because with more detail more attention has to be paid to every frame.
