i have been thinking about buying a new camera and i think this is what i need:

-Hdv not avchd. I only hear bad reports about editing avchd.
-24p. a must. 30p is not good enough.
-3Ccd not cmos. because i need to do fast pans. cmos has the rolling shutter problem.
-Progressive not interlaced. no need to explain.
-East to capture and edit in final cut. some alternatives to hdv like JVC's .tod files seem to need conversion before editing them into final cut.
-Don't care about tape, hd or flash as long as it has all this other features.
- around 1000$

the gz-hd6 and gz-hd7 seem to have most of these features but the format they use is more time consuming when editing.

any other options

thanks in advance.

alot of people use the canon hv20, and hv30
and it has just about everything on your list but i believe they are cmos camera's
alot of people on these boards use them, i would look through the canon/hv20 thread located here

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/forumdisplay.php?f=104

you can check out demo clips, and both models will be under the $1000 mark new

not sure how much that one factor ranks to you, but i am just showing you options worth looking at

yes i researched those quite a bit and even had a hv20 for a few minutes in my hands. i noticed the rolling shutter problem right away although some people dont seem to see it.
for me it is deal breaker.

I have the gz-hd3, But it doesn't have 24p but I can talk about the format, it really is a pain in the ass, you would need a intemediate codec as cineform.......

Well I have GZ-HD7:
Does not have 24p
Has 3ccd
Files .TOD are easy to edit in vegas, I don't need to convert them into any other format, just drag and drop in timeline and that's it, by the way it is a very good camera at overall prosumer cameras

You get what you pay for. And by that I mean.. you GET exactly WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Not going to find a decent cam for under 1k that has the amazing functionality of the dvx. If you end up purchasing a consumer "HD" camera and get fooled by the "HD" marketing then you're going to hate yourself for not putting out the extra cash and being stuck with a piece of carp.

Rob a bank if you have to but at the minimum get the hmc40 or something. By the way I use an hmc150 and avchd is a blessing.

I was going to get a DVX, but since our DP has one. I went ahead and went with an HV40. I am very pleased with it. The image quality is great, and because of its small size. I am able to get shots I wouldn't be able to get with a larger camera. So far, there isn't anything we haven't been able to do on my camera that we could do on the DVX. Some of it takes a bit of extra effort on the HV40, but its nothing major. Its the only camera on the market in the price range that comes close. I'd suggest it over the 20/30 since it has native 24p, and doesn't require you to remove pulldown. I bought mine for 759 with a slew of extras (some of which were crap), and I used the extra money to purchase a 35mm adapter and rails system to go with it.

Why not just use dvx100 and up rez video using Magic Bullet Instant HD Advanced? http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/products/all/magic-bullet-instant-hd-adv/
I have the dvx training book and DVD. I talks a bit about up rezzing dvx video to hd.
The following link is a clip I put on youtube from the dvx training DVD, that compares dvx100 uprez video to true hd. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7Mm4BEvxEY

But it only works on Premiere Pro, FCP or After Effects, which leaves us Sony Vegas users out in the cold. :(
