As per title.
What are the differences between .MOV and MP4 on the X1 ? And reasons for using one or the other ?
I'm editing on PC, vegas NLE, i'll be rendering as MP4.
I'll be shooting in mostly 4K, sometimes HD.

Thanks, Paul.

There is no difference in the actual video codec with either one. .MOV is a quicktime container format.
You might check to see which if either give you a readable time code track in Vegas.
There can be differences in how efficiently the NLE handles either on the timeline. Does one give better performance than the other when fast scanning or running multiple video layers?
Try samples of both to see if there are any significant differences.

Thanks guys, i can't see any difference in the quality and no difference on the timeline in Vegas. I just wondered if i was missing something.

Thanks, Paul.
