This was with the HVX. One frame was shot every two seconds. I used the news gamma setting and finished the shot in post using FCP. I could get a little more out of it by using the curves control in AE, but not a whole lot more.

In previous attempts to do time lapse shots I had to use a laptop connected via firewire. It was cumbersome. This setup is a whole lot more convenient and less prone to problems.
 
I liked the second one better. Course, being a nature guy, I'll always go with the one that doesn't have the hand of man in it anytime :)

The first half is for those who yearn to see Diamond Head and Waikiki. :)

As you can see, there's not much of anything natural left in that part of the island! Even some of the most active "reefs" are artificial -- sunken wrecks and intentionally submerged structures.
 
No, we're not shooting the show with it. Not yet. I might use it to shoot standups and a few other things but for now we're going to continue shooting in SD until we get a second camera and a whole bunch of hard drives.

Producing a fishing show in Hawaii would make a great national-level outdoor program so it's definitely on our radar.

I will start shooting commercial spots with it, tho, and downconverting to SD. The resolution and color is great for green screen work. And I like the "look" it provides.
 
is the timelapse with p2 cards? VEry nice, better than a lot of the static camera timelapse on here.
 
Nice looking footage, just be sure to keep your horizon line straight, it was a bit distracting to me.

Actually the horizon is bent due to the wide angle of the HVX.

It can be fixed in AE. Hadn't bothered with that yet as it's test footage.

Polarizer? No. Stupid me. I was walking with a 4x4 polarizer in a rotating matte box, and it fell out, right onto concrete.

A replacement is on its way from B&H...!

I ran the camera for 10 to 15 minutes. Not long. With a 2-second interval between frames, that gives me 10 to 15 seconds of material. Enough for my tests.
