Having trouble focusing with Letus35

I have searched and could not find an answer for this. I have a dvx100a + letus35.

First of all, I keep seeing the word 'infinity' around...what does that mean?

With the dvx100 w/ out the letus35.....if i wanted everything in focus...i would zoom in all the way to the furtest point far away and focus that....and everything would be in focus. Could the Letus35 + canon 50mm 1.4 do that as well?

Whenever i shoot with the letus35 w/ the lens...it only wants to focus at a particular point in a distance. I want the letus35 to focus everything from front to back.

You can focus to the infinity with those also.

You probably have to focus 100-150meters.

However, i don't know the circle of confusion value exactly. So it may change...

Look for the CoC value.
Also read "hyperfocal distance" topic on google.

so there is a way to focus everything with the letus35?

Thing is, i don't know how. On the dvx focus ring, what do i focus on? Focusing on the GG just makes everything blurry....

The point of the letus is to give you a nice shallow depth of field, which is something in focus, whether it'd be in the foreground or background, and everything else is blurry. To try to get as deep of depth of field as you can with the letus, I would suggest adjusting your aperature on the 50mm and the iris on the dvx so you still have a properly exposed picture but a deeper dof(dof is dependant on fstop, more open your iris/aperature, the shallower dof you can get; the more closed, the deeper dof you can get. Zoom/distance also has a part in dof)

With the letus, you can't zoom at all right? When I have the letus35 on, i can only set my zoom to 70....and from that number if i try to zoom in more everything goes blurry.

What i'm asking is....can i get everything in focus with the letus35 ? Background and Foreground?

Like taking a photograph with a 35mm SLR, when you zoom in all the way and focus and zoom back...everything will be in focus.....is that possible with the letus35?

you should not touch dvx focus ring. you have to focus to the focusing plate ( letus plate ). and after that you have to play with the lens you attach to the letus35.

F1.4 is a special value. It let's shallowing the depth of field. If you want more deep field. So that F value must be more and more. If you can't change that value. You can't do anything other than focusing at a far distance or changing the lens with another one.

That is nothing to do with letus35. You have to change the lens you attach.. Try a zoom lens with an aperture far more than 1.4

Oh, a zoom lens. I do not have one of those.

Actually, I have a Canon 50mm, but the aperature is broken.
So I need a zoom lens, i'll look into some.

If you want to zoom, you need zoom lens (: ( lens with a long focal length )

You don't need a zoom lens for "i want everything in focus".
For "i want everything in focus", you need a lens that you can change the F value to higher.
