Having issues opening .NEF files and stair stepping .AVI ??

Having problems opening .nef files in just about every program on my older powerbook G4 1.67 ghz. Photoshop CS, preview.

Any ideas ?






I know the stair stepping has been beat to death here, but I'm only finding windows plugins, nothing for macs in the threads.

Any plugins for FCP 6 ?

i'm not sure how you could miss it, it's actually been discussed more than the pc methods. i got what you need, see homepage.

as for .nef it's supported by iphoto if you do a software update. not ideal but it has some ok controls for setting white balance and levels+gamma before you output to jpeg. i also have an old photoshop version that doesn't suport it.

there's an adobe raw camera photoshop plug-in. you need the apple raw compatibility update for iphoto.

Yea I have no idea. I searched several times and found pc based apps/files. Anyway I actually found your site earlier, but the link was broken. I re-entered my email address and it downloaded. Anyway thanks so much for the "FREE" upload, man you could have made a small fortune with this.

So as for the .NEF files how are you guys editing them in photoshop then ? There has to be some way of bringing them in.... ?

I use a RAW-to-DNG converter, since I use CS2 at home, and there's no support for it, and I don't wanna use Nikon's software. CS2 can open the DNG file the same way it does Raw files, with all the extra color control. It's a small extra step, so I don't mind.
