Have HVX, will travel... (To 818, 310 and 213)

As you may have noticed, I have finally recieved an HVX from the generous people at EVS and am making it and myself and or David Fairbanks available for rent.
Prices are reasonable, negotiable and in line with what you would pay from EVS, Abel or Birns plus a fee for the person.

I am not yet ready to let it out of my sight, so don't ask!

Both myself and David have been involved with the DVXuser and/or the DV.com HVX testing and are very familiar with it's workings and capabilities (at least as much as possible given the time invested). We have already shot two paid jobs with a rental from EVS.

We are also both accomplished DPs with many broadcast credits.

I apologize for the shameless self promotion, but I gotta start saving for a 17" HD monitor.

I understand if one of the other moderators bumps this to the work section but since most of you hang out here...

Also, I did not get any P2s yet, they didn't come in, but I can capture directly to my Powerbook just fine in all frame rates and resolutions via a 25' FW cable.

If you're interested PM me.

you+are = you're ;)

Hey Evin, does this mean you have purchased your HVX? Did EVS finally get some stock? The last I saw, Jay was still the only one who had physically purchased one from their store. (I'm extremely interested as I am also very high on their list).

EVS got "1". Count them. 1.

While not a lot you at least moved up 1 closer.

The latest rumor is that Pana is shipping much more next Monday. If I've learned 1 thing through all of this it's to not get too excited until it actually happens.

If EVS only had one to sell, it doesn't matter if you're #2 or #300. I was just curious if they actually got a second shipment in at this point; Rush had indicated in another thread that they hadn't.

Rush just said today that they got ONE camera in their shipment, and that it belonged to Evinsky.

Yes, that's correct (i think?)

It wasn't a single thread, though. So don't feel bad. It was hidden in another one, I believe.

The Shipping Dates thread?

By the way, having worked with Evin, let me just say -- the guy has SKILLZ. I mean he's really talented and has an excellent eye. Evin, you should post a link to your reel and to your still photography. Rent this guy and his gear and you will get some serious production value on your shoot!

I will chime in and say Evin is a very capable shooter. I was on his last set, and the production value was superior, and so was his professional attitude with his producers and crew. He was gracious enough to allow me to film his set for a doc I am working on. Evin is a great DP, and I believe that so much I asked him to help me on a little movie that I am working on. So, hire away boys, your money and ideas are in good hands.

Congratulations on the HVX Evin, I hope it will net you some tidy profits. Also I hope it will be the first of many to come for other people...

Haakon, Evin was #2, and we got one HVX, no cards. I called him within 30 seconds of UPS getting us the camera.

I will vouch for the man as well.. worked with him and he blows away some ASC shooters i know. Just take a look at his reel.

Dp Needed

Dp Needed

Actually, I need a DP for a microbudget ($100,000) feature we're shooting in March and April (about 5 weeks). No cast yet as we start casting on Monday, but our casting director is top flight (Director of Casting at Fox). We also have some great people involved in the project, including Jonathan Lynn (director of My Cousin Vinny and The Whole Nine Yards). We are using the InDigEnt model (Pieces of April, Tadpole) to make this movie, so there's not much dough, but real backend (first dollar gross), a great script, and a team that can execute it. If you're interested in submitting a reel, please send an e-mail to hsag@kinesisent.com with DVXUSER in the subject heading. Happy to send script and bios of the team to anyone who's interested. And, by the way, I am open to shooting this partly or entirely on an HVX. If we can find one!

Sean

p.s. We are shooting in L.A. with three 2nd unit days in Chicago.

Yes, Evin, if you're interested, would love to see your reel. You certainly have some fans! Send me an e-mail at the above address.

Gosh, with those kinds of glowing endorsements from the likes of Barry and Rush, what more can a shooter want? Best of luck, ev, with the HVX

And I don't blame you for not wanting to let that baby out of your sight!
