Hi all, interested in the TV Logic 5.5" monitor ( this one http://www.videogear.co.uk/Monitors...FM-058W-5-5-Monitor-1920x1080-/prod_5393.html ) . I'm a fan of monitors over EVF's, Ive just tried the Gratical and was impressed but not enough to part a few thousand on it. Anyway, I guess with the FS7 if anyone has used it, but with any camera what are your thoughts on the Logic. I don't like having a 7inch monitor as I run and gun a lot and find they get in the way more than help me. Thanks for any thoughts!

(P.s. Yes I've seen the new Small HD but start a big project next week so need something presently available)

TV Logic is great, but for the FS7 there are a few downsides.:
Because in some modes the FS7 loses waveform, LUT's and even zebras I think ( I forget frankly) I wanted something that can can give me good exposure tools.
The TV Logic has zebras and waveform but can't use LUT's.
Moreover the menu system was not executed well and you only have one real function button, so its very difficult to toggle waveform, false color or zebras on and off. I usually leave the waveform on all the time and toggle Red peaking to check focus as needed. The color peaking function does work quite well .. So I decided to break for a 7Q+ so I could have the additional features. It is larger and more expensive though.

I've tried the 7Q+, great monitor but too big for my gig.
I thought the logic had 3 function buttons that were assignable? That's what I've seen.

I'm thinking Len has the 800px tvlogov . I'm hoping to test this one out v soon - no luts is theo lu apparet downside-

Not posting on my phone now..

-The HDMI out of the FS7 is garbage.. aka interlaced.. so I would forget taking a feed from there upart from a scratch feed for a director maybe.
-I would not trust ever getting LUTs from the FS7 as they dont work on playback/HFR.

So where does that leave this monitor?

Well you and I like the size/res and agree that it could be a perfect operator monitor.

Simply Im going to go to a physical shop and try it - I wonder if addition of contrast will create a 'faux LUT'

Other reasons not to buy today .. NAB and announcements (that will hit the shops in july!)

Like you I just want to 'complete' my FS7 build and move on in life.
Like you I have a upcoming project where I must have the camera properly prepped.

Today I don't think there is a perfect solution for us, cash no object.

One thought - I try not to spend proper money on stuff that doesnt hit the full spec.. generally it comes back to bite (like me cheaping on non SDI SmallHD some years ago)

You could consider an AJA lut box which would add luts but that is another £500!
