FS7: has anyone tried the new commlite nikon 2 emount adapter (AF, VR support)

sign me up, indeed looks promising! seems like the adapter has a built in motor for triggering the mechanical aperture lever - that alone would be pretty amazing for variable stepless aperture adjustments (one can dream :P )...
i suppose it will work with the FS series cameras, as it also seems to work with the older NEX-5 series cameras - why not?

i consider the AF to be unusable, though!

If they can get VR on a nikon adapter that is huge. I prefer Nikon lenses to canon as I hate electronic apertures (adapter as an apeture ring) I could care less about AF. adapter AF is usually hit and miss anyway.

Oooh this is nice! Almost just purely for the fact that I could use all my Nikon glass for stills w/ autofocus on my A7Sii. I love the convenience of having autofocus on my still photo cameras.

EDIT: ooh I just watched a review where a bunch of nikon lenses failed to focus with it... the focus motor would run but the system wouldn't actually find a focus. That definitely put a damper on my hopes for this one!

can you share the Review?
Is it the one from matt granger on the prototype?

What are you basing that statement on? I'm truly interested.

I saw one review of the Commlite vs Metabones (for Canon), and the reviewer preferred the Commlite.

well, the AF may work for photos, but i've never seen a stills lens that has successfully been used with AF on a video camera. Typically those adapters are relativeley slow and the AF abilities are not comparable to a native lens for example.

Well AF is of course dicey but the really big news here is an adapter for Nikon glass that provides IS or VR whatever you want to call it. Hopefully this adapter will allow manual control of the iris on the adapter itself like all other Nikon adapters do . Unfortunately I didn't see a lever for this in any pics. . The ideal DSLR lens for video would be a Nikon with VR enabled and the manual override on the iris with f stop markings like the Optitek. Most of the Nikon zooms are at least largely par focal.
I would trade in all my Canon glass for smooth iris and VR but I'm not holding my breath. Even if the iris needs to be electronic, then hopefully it could be stepless. If its steppy then there is no advantage to Nikon glass.
