Has anyone recieved a $950 GH1 from J&R Amazon with early firmware

Just looking for confirmation that the GH1's that are shipping this and last week from J&R (via Amazon) are the early pre 1.34 models.

There was a post on here a few days ago that someone got theirs from last week when they ran the lower price and it was hackable.

Yes, I received the J&R $950 version camera the first time it was on sale. I received it this past wednesday. It had firmware 1.2 and it was hackable. I would assume it would be the same for all J&R stock.

Just got off the phone with J&R sales guy. He said from what he could see on his databse, the cameras have firmware 1.3.

That said, how can they say the firmware they have is 1.3 firmware version?

I am able to only write, not speak english once I am not an english speaker.

Can anyone call them again and show them this post please?

I wouldn't sweat it Caesar. The $950 J&R deal is gone anyway. B&H Photo will be cheaper now and they seem to be shipping FW 1.2.

I'm in the same boat.... If it turns out to be non hackable, I just return it or sell it on ebay, no big deal. The only fear I have is that Panasonic announces a new camera within the next few days... very unlikely but not impossible...

Even if they do, it may not come out for a few weeks (months) and may have the same low non-hacked data rates of the GH1. It may then be some weeks (months) more until a firmware update is released to allow a hack. That's my logic for buying a second GH1 now anyway.

I'm just worried that the prices would drop substantially, and I would have to sell it at a big loss. I only bought it because of the hack... if there was no hack I would have bought a T2i or 7D instead...
