Has Anyone had this problem?

I currently have a crew in the field having problems importing p2 files into an Avid Media Composer system. Without being there to physically see the problem it is difficult for me to accurately describe it, but because time is of the essence in solving this dilemma, I will give it a shot. When importing 1080i files into FCP they are having no problems. Everything is where it should be and nothing is missing. However, when importing the P2 files into the Media Composer they are somehow missing channel one of their audio (which conveniently is the lavalier mic and obviously the channel they need). The channel shows up like it is there but there is no level and no sound coming from the track. It is there in FCP so it wasn't a mistake in recording. Unfortunately the project needs to be cut on the Avid so I am desperately trying to solve this problem. I have tried everything I can think of within the avid software and can't seem to solve the problem. If anyone out there has had a similar issue please let me know if and how they resolved it.
 
A Google search for "avid p2 a1 missing" turned up a couple of leads. Looks like there are solutions, but rather than recant them here, check out teh Google :) Most of them look relatively simple.

Also, I think this was a bug of sorts in earlier versions of the Avid software; newer versions might not suffer the same malady.
