Has anyone gotten an HD100 without the split...

...screen or with the "fix" built in? What about Dead pixs? Anyone got one straight from the factory without dead pix? I'm thinking about shooting my next flick in one. Netflix and Amazon.com have "The Fourth Beast" my first flick. By the way you can see what I've got in store by clicking here here. These are my plans for the HD100 if I actually get one but I tend to be anal about in camera problems like this so I won't be getting one in until the money is there and until the fix is standard. I'll need to get a Firestore 80 gig too. I am trying to wait to see what Panny has in store for us though. true HD? Sounds good. So give me the low down guys.

As far as I know, there's only one guy in the US who even has one of these cameras yet. The stores have received demo models, but I haven't heard of any actual customers receiving it (other than Nate Weaver).

So your questions are too early to be asnwered properly; you'll have to wait until the camera starts being delivered to US customers.

If you're talking about worldwide, I haven't heard of any international customers who don't have dead pixels and the split-screen, to one degree or another. But supposedly the US release is being held up to address that, so we'll have to see what happens when cameras start being delivered to US customers.

In a post entitled "Production Model JVC HD100 in hand! No Issues!" A guy named intro2trig says he got one with no issues.

I can't believe JVC buggered up like that in the first place... it could have already cost them millions, especially if they need to do major recalls. Lets hope the problems are now fixed.

It happens. The DVX100a was simply a fix to the DVX100, although the problems were certainly not with the image.

What? The DVX100A was by no means "simply a fix" to the DVX100 -- it was a substantial upgrade. There was nothing "broken" in the DVX100. There was no split-screen or dead pixel issue or anything like that. They added more features, yes, but they didn't "fix" anything. Only thing that could remotely be called a "fix" was the two-frame audio delay circuit.

Well there you have it... If JVC 'fixes' the shortcomings, perhaps they'll add some other features as well? - can't think of anything I would've liked... Perhaps A/B-mount or V-mount standard on this cam? a full res HD viewfinder?...

I'll be happy with this package if the probs are solved....

Which would indeed be a fix right. :) And let's not forget the 24p audio sync was not on the original.

I think there are only three people on the board here who actually have received the camera. Tim Dashwood returned his, they gave him new ones that are virtually free of the split-screen effect, and also masked out the dead pixels for him. Nate Weaver hasn't returned his, AFAIK. And Rocketeer returned his camera twice, and is still waiting for the third replacement to come in.

I haven't gotten one yet, as they're in exceptionally short supply and EVS doesn't have any for resale yet. As soon as they get one in for resale, and presuming it's free of dead pixels and split-screen, that's when I'll get it.

I have a friend in Florida who received his camera last week and shot some tests over the weekend. Very disapointed with the obvious split screen effect at 0db, 1/60th/24fps.
