Has anyone brought film equipment into Morocco recently?

I'm an indy filmmaker and was planning on shooting 2-3 short scenes in the country side and was wondering if I would have any issues at customs? It's just me and a friend going.
I was planning on bringing one back pack with equipment - a BM pocket camera, one lens, Zhiyun-Tech Crane, SD premix 6, a lav, shotgun mic, some batteries.
Thanks for any feedback.

Heya,

Based on my experiences shooting towards a small-footprint documentary six times in Morocco over the past couple of years, you should be fine taking the kit you mentioned into the country. I’ve flown in to Marrakesh with large photo backpack of lenses/body, Peli of extra gear, plus tripod bag, and never been challenged.

If you do get stopped and questioned, just don’t mention that you’re making a film, and ideally have another profession to state if they ask that. Just my experience so it doesn’t guarantee anything, but I wouldn’t worry too much!

Best of luck,

Jason

none of that stuff will raise any eyebrows. You are just 'a hobbyist photographer who wants to take beautiful pictures of the wonderful countryside'
Morocco is not a country of rules and regulations, it's a place of charm & cash.
