Has anybody sold their DVX for an HVX?

I'm thinking about selling it on Ebay, and I was hoping to salvage $2,200 from the package. What do you guys think?

- DVX100a with under 40 hours on it.
- Barry's DVX Book & DVD.
- Original Panasonic Factory Battery Plus 2 DVX User Batteries
- Red Eye .5x Wide Angle Lens Adapter
- 3 Tiffen Filters (ND, Flourescent, UV)
- Original Box
- 2 Years on Mack Warranty (is this transferable?)
- Accesories (Remote Control, Microphone Mount, etc.)

I'm holding out for the Santa Rosa chip Mac Book Pro and the Adobe Master Collection -- those can't come soon enough. When they do come, hello HVX.

I'm not too sure about the values of your extras but I think it be tough to get $2200 for a 100a these day considering that a new 100b now goes for $2600. Somewhere south of $2000 is more reasonable.

Crap. I thought the retail for the DVX was still ~$3,100. The extras may be enough to push it close to the $2000 level.

jade8472 may be looking at a grey market website (scammers) for the price of a 100B. Sbryan, your asking price for the package sounds pretty good. One ebay, if you do an advanced search, you can search for auctions already ended to get a good idea what things have been selling for.

2650 plus shipping and tax where applicable, but still i would've bought from sbryan if i didn't have a 100b already.

edit: good luck

I've been looking for DVX's slowly for a few months... and everyone is saying the price is $1200 -$1500. Since you have a lens maybe a little more.

I'd buy it for $1500?

those people are smoking crack unless they are talking about the original DVX with 300+ hrs - and that is still a hard find at $1500

I sold my dvx for $2K last October and it had 160 hours on the heads along with Barry's book and a UV and Polarizer lens + 2 batteries. If your camera really has 40 hours or less, you can get that price. Also keep in mind if you walk into B&H they will charge you tax on that camera. If you live out of state, they will charge you shipping and if you are smart, you will put insurance on it which will bump up that price. A well kept DVX can get that asking price. I would put it up on Ebay with a starting price of $1500, a reserve price of $2,000 and a buy now price of $2,200.

Thanks for the tip.

If I don't see action on the one I have up for sale I will go that route too. Seems to me though it would be better bought within this community...

I just recently sold on eBay:

(3) DVX100a's 25hrs on each machine
(3) FS-4 40gb Firestore's
(3) Shoulder Mounts
(6) Batteries

I sold it for $7000, and I bought 2 HVX200's
