Harley and Selina Trailer

Hey there,
Long time lurker, sometime poster. We recently completed an eight minute short film for a comic convention film contest. Since Batman Begins is being released this summer we wanted to set it in the Batman universe without involving Batman himself. So it is based on Harley Quinn and Selina Kyle (Catwoman) in a therapy session at Arkham Asylum.

It was shot with two DVX 100's using natural lighting in the room. We would love to hear what you think either here or please leave a comment on the trailer page. Any comments are welcome.

I think it would be nice if you could work in some more dialog of the girl with the tense music, could be nice maybe ?

Thanks for the response. The trailer is meant to be more of a teaser than anything else. The dialouge for the shots I wanted to use wouldn't have made any sense the way it was so we opted to just have the doctor speak in the begining . If I do another trailer I will definatly have the girls speaking some of their dialouge.

I liked the footage...

I liked the music...

but I couldn't figure out why the two were together. My apologies if I missed the obvious, but the images just did not seem to match the music.
 
I think this piece needs to be shorter as it is limited by taking place in a single location - the shots (similar backgrounds and lighting) seem to meld into one another after a while. That being said - the footage looks good and the 2.35 framing adds to the claustrophic feeling of the piece. Good luck!
 
shoulda had some sort of ominous blue CC in the beggining for that epic feel the music portrayed good job gettin something done!

Thanks for watching the trailer. I picked the music since it had energy and the epic sound of the music conveys the struggle that Harley and Selina have with each other and themselves.

Thanks for the comments. I don't know how much shorter it could have been but I do understand what you mean. And I'm glad someone got the framing / claustrophic feeling we were going for.

Thanks for watching. We actually made the film for Wizard Con Chicago. We won't know if it will show until the begining of June.

Thanks for the comments. What kind of CC effect were you thinking of and over what part of the trailer? I'd like to try it to see how it looks.

It really did nothing for me. I think the comments about needing to hear more dialogue hit it right on the nose. Watching people expressing themselves passionately without hearing the words actually loses the drama. More dialogue.
 
Trailers Updated

Trailers Updated

Well after the advice of folks on this board and a couple of other boards, we decided to update the Harley and Selina Trailer. On another board it was recommended to put a catch phrase over the titles so the audience could at least hear the girls speak. So we did that and updated the trailer on the website here:

We also sat down and created an entirely new trailer more along the lines of what people on the boards said they wanted to see.
