EVA1: Hard to edit files

So question, for some reason, all footage shot with a 25p base framerate only shows up as an audio file in Davinci Resolve, it does however work in Adobe Premiere. Wasn't expecting to have to transcode files before editing with this camera, as that was one of it's strengths over the C200 when deciding on it. Footage shot at 59,94p however works fine. Haven't checked to see if 24 or 23,976 shows different results.

So do you guys transocde before editing or just work with the files as they come from the camera?

I'll just chime in here without being an EVA-1 owner to get you an answer sooner than later. Someone else with more knowledge may want to speak into this as well.

Generally any new camera release will have these issues and software needs to be updated. This is less an EVA-1 issue as much as it is an early adopter issue - new Sony cameras, new GH5 when it launched, etc. commonly encountered this. Adobe is usually pretty on top of supporting new cameras and formats right out the gate, but you may have to wait a month or two for Resolve to work it out (or shorter - I am not sure how quick they usually are with these things). You should not have to transcode the EVA-1 files to work with them and updated software support will most certainly solve that in an application specific manner, per my understanding.

Maybe this isn't the issue but I would rest easy as I'd be extremely surprised if this wasn't worked out with an update soon. Your native support experience in Premiere is what I would anticipate everywhere.

If you want to know for sure, check out "Media Division" YouTube channel as he has an EVA-1 and is working with it in Davinci Resolve. You could leave a comment or PM and he should get back to you quickly; he did when I asked a question.

Good luck! (and please post up some footage for us soon! :D).
