Hard drive format - newb question

Hi there,
I've just done a test with formating and loading P2 footage directly onto a 320 gig LaCie external hard drive, and it works well and everything, but it's turned the hard drive to 8 gig and I'm at a bit of loss as to how to get the hard drive back to its original size of 320 gig? I've tried formatting again in Windows and all sorts of other stuff, nothing seems to do the trick...?

Go read up on using the disk management tool if your using windowz.
The camera has made an 8GB partition on your drive (I guess you have 8GB P2 cards and you transfered one by firewire.)
In short, you need to zap the partition on your external drive, then create a new one that uses all the space and then format it.

CAREFUL!!!! make sure you know what you're doing before you go messing with the disk managment or it will all end in tears.

I agree with Milezee.
If you are using windows you can go into your control panel then administrative tools and look for disk management. In here you are able to look at your external drive and see what partitions is has and how much available space is left.
