Doesn't fit in the overhead bin on a plane. Would never want to leave my camera in the "capable" hands of "hans and franz shot-put champion baggage handlers".

After much discussion on this website, I went with the Pelican 1510 (with wheels). Meets all airline requirements. I was able to shove in my 200, 2 FS-100's, 2 500g G-Drives, batteries and cables. HEAVY, but secure and always in my hands! $123.00

If I didn't need to fly, I would get something bigger.

I put mine in a Kata CCC-10. I used it for my XL1s, PD-170 and now the HVX200. It has a CAVision matte box and rails on it. Eventually I'll extend the rails, set up some sort of shoulder brace, and mount my AT wireless receivers. All this with the intention of using the same Kata bag which barely fits in most overhead bins in aircraft -- including the Boeing 737-200, 737-400, 767 and 717 (the old Douglas DC-9).

here is the shot of the pelican case. A lot had to be stuffed in here, but you can see it can be done, I made sure all the drives had ample cushion, all the cord ends are protected from being smashed, and the hvx's handle was the only thing that you had to cut a little room on the lid foam for it to snug in. I made sure though that there is still some foam covering it, even though it is not that much. The lens cloth covering the viewfinder is just added protection from unknowns.

With this and my laptop in a backpack, I am good to go.

yep, 1 bag for the overhead bin, and you can bring another small bag that will fit under your seat. That would be my powerbook to watch DVD's on the trip.

Has anybody tried sticking TWO Cameras in one Pelican 1510?

Now that would be EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, coming up with the scratch for a second HVX would be great but I'm still working on figuring out how to operate one . . . of course with the NYC BootCamp under my belt now I'm nearly an expert ;-)

I have a new Pelican 1510 for sale (no foam) for $99.00 (includes UPS shipping) if anyone wants it. Desert tan, I bought if for the carry-on but decided on the big Storm Case (not a carry on) before ever using it. PM me if you want it.

Just curious what your workflow is. Do you upload data from one FS 100 to the HDD as you're shooting on the other one? Any special reason for choosing G-Technology versus other manufacturers?
