Happy Star Wars Day, everyone...

Lucas ruined my party when he announced the blu rays. No original versions of the first trilogy. Booooo.

I was always more of a Trek fan. Can I hear it for "Talk like Shatner day"?

I'm working my way through season 3 of the original series on blu ray. Once I'm done I will have watched every single episode and will expect my nerd achievement badge in the mail.

Still never seen it. I've tried to though. Not sure what to say other than giving my GPS units to the Gov so I may recieve a polite Scudi nto my upper left eye area.

Is it available in paperback?

//Star Wars I mean.

Not really... you would also have to watch the 70's animated series too. While technically part of the series, it has some good episodes by the original writers. And then there are like a million books to read too. My favorite is The Return by Shatner. Ok, so that is the only one I've read... a big disappointment to some I'm sure ;)

There is one animated episode on the blu-ray, the pilot. There's nothing quite like seeing el-cheapo 70's animation in hi-def on a 100 inch screen.

Yes it is. In abundance.

But the original three movies came out in book form back in the 70's so lucky you.

Cool. I never got into the movies. I couldn't sit through the first one. I'll try the book(s). It's just me, I'm sure. I know people love it.

Our local small town theater played Empire last night. A few weeks ago, they played A New Hope, and luckily it was pre Special Edition. Sadly, empire had a giant, walking Wampa, extensive exteriors of Cloud City, and Boba Fett's voice is now Jango Fett's. Sigh.

Hope everyone had a good 4th (yes, this is me).

Don't you still have to watch all of the Next Generation shows as well? The original series is cool. It's the new stuff that makes you nerdy.

Plus the Animated Series (aka The Animated Adventures of Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek).
