Pain In The Ass 2.0
This is a phenomenal story. Sh*tty ... but phenomenal.
At about 12:35 PM I get a call today from my old lady neighbor saying that there has been a break-in in my home. 3 little bastard high school kids felt it necessary to steal my stuff.
My cousin and I leave from work and 15 minutes later get to my home. The window on my back door is smashed in and my townhome has been partially ransacked. There's like 10 cops and 5 cars (I actually felt special). I actually wasn't as upset as I thought I would be, I mean, sh*t happens, and most of what I value isn't tangible stuff anyway. But anyway ...
The first cop that took me through the house was great cause he pinned my attitude perfectly and played to it. Our first stop was my entertainment center. TV, check, Klipsch Surround Speakers, check, MartinLogan Sub, check, receiver, check, Nintendo Wii and games ... gone. ARRRRGGHHH!!! This and the giant mud stains on my carpet are the worst so far ... i mean, you can rob me ... but at least wipe your feet.
We make our way up the bedroom and office, fairly ransacked, all my GF's jewelry dumped out, things rummaged through ... but next to nothing stolen. We get into the office, and thank god, my computer and my entire movie making career are untouched. phew. Funniest quote by the cop "Well, it looks like they didn't really steal anything, and thank god (beat) It looks like the turtle is going to make it." I couldn't help but laugh.
By the time we get back downstairs, the cops inform me that they "retreived my nintendo" Apparently they were fast enough to scare the kids into dropping my stuff, but not fast enough to catch them.
So, all in all, they got away with 4 Wii games and a half broken portable DVD player, while leaving pretty much everything that was of real value alone. I mean ... they stole guitar hero but not the guitar controller. I have pity for them that they are that stupid. total gross loss including door repair, about 400 bucks.
There's another story about fighting my HOA to put in a door without a window, but it's really not as interesting. Needless to say, I got my door.
THE ENTRY POINT, I'M SO GLAD THE SAFETY GLASS WAS THERE SO THEY DIDN'T CUT THEMSELVES BREAKING INTO MY HOME.
NINTENDO AND BASKETS OF GAMES/ACCESSORIES STOLEN. BOO.
NINTENDO RECOVERED!!!! GO COPS!!!
BEN ... YOU GOT THAT CRAZY LOOK IN YOUR EYE AGAIN.
