I hope you're having a great holiday season. I'd like you to check out my trailer for Felliniesque Players and advise me on distribution or marketing.

I shot this movie by myself, one-man crew, my MO. My camera is stock Sony Z1. I shot HDV 60i, two mics, camera mounted shotgun and lavaliers on actors. I'm generally pleased about the quality. I normally shoot 35mm, but this was an experimental movie and I wanted to do things I'd never dare do with a 35mm camera.

Happy Holidays !

Assume you're referring to the teaser here

Extraordinary. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::beer:

Let me preface everything that follows by proclaiming that I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about here.

I really, really enjoyed it - photography and music are both excellent.

Dialogue at very end really caught me off guard - where'd that come from???

So... teaser was great visual experience, hard for me to conceptualize what I saw into a storyline though. I'm sure there are a certain core of fans who accept felliniesque as a genre all it's own.

Beyond that, I think John Q needs more help putting it in a wrapper he can get his mind around - what little box does he file this in? - before he'd make a commitment to purchase. I have an idea of what it might be about, but absolutely no confidence that I'm right.

Ok, watched it again. Again struck by the cinematography. Feel better about where it goes, would definitely see it. Problem, imho, is trailers are like posters - you don't get second chances. The right title might make all the difference here - prepare the mind for what it's about to see. Remember, John Q has absolutely no idea what felliniesque means.

This is one where viral/utube style marketing might just be a huge win. It would probably also do well on the festival circuit which in turn never hurts the netflix rental market. . .

Congratulations & best wishes

Thank you pixel, I'm really happy you liked it. You know, I never thought about the title very hard. I usually use a generic title until the end so it doesn't get stolen. But in this case, I forgot to come up with a new title for the movie.

I'm glad you brought me out of it: of course, I need a new title!

Okay, now the search begins ...

But I'm glad you liked the visuals anyways. The movie is really a rock opera, with a lot of music, songs and dancing. It's a rock musical; that's probably a better way to describe it.

Thanks again :-)
