Ok, so every year for the rest of my life I will have an anniversary, Valentine's Day, birthday, etc to celebrate with my wife. That's a lot of holidays. I thought I would start a thread to see if anyone had any ideas or examples of gifts for those times that will inevitably come up.
For example, for the first year I was married, I saved everything. Receipts from special events/dinners, ticket stubs, photos, etc. For our first anniversary I started a scrapbook of our life together. It was only like 8 pages or so, and left the other pages blank to build on it in the "upcoming" years. She loved that. That took planning beforehand, though. Definitely not something last minute.
Then, this past May was our 4 year wedding anniversary. So every night after my wife went to bed, I worked for an hour or two on this:
She had no idea I was even making anything, and she loved it.
Well, those are a couple things I've done. What about you guys? Have any ideas / thoughts you can share that others could try in the future?
This thread may not get any replies, but I figured I'd give it a shot since we're all KINDA like-talented in what we do.
Also, stories of what was NOT a good gift will help to. Our first Christmas together, I bought my wife 8 or 9 gifts. One of which was rechargeable AA batteries for a camera I bought her for our wedding present. She kept saying she wanted them, but apparently Christmas was not the time to get them for her. Who knew...
