Hands on Premier pro and messed-up fields

I know this is one of those dumb questions people drop in with every now and then. Cann't help it.

I have DVX100b footage shot at 24P 16:9 and I'm editing it in a 4:3 timeline. I don't know what I have to do to not to get those interlace fields(I have them when I watch burnt DVD on TV). Where and at what time do I have to de-interlace if I have to, what field priorities I should set and do I need to interpret the footage? Biggest Dilemma is that I have already worked on editing and only 20-30 seconds are left to be edited of this 20 mins video.

Call me Dumber and pour in your favos please.

Just to clarify.

You shot 24P, not 24PA?

You shot letter-boxed, not squeeze?

You created a DV-NTSC, not a DV-24P project?

You are experiencing interlaced artifacts when viewing a DVD from this project?

Are these statements correct?

I shot 24P
letter-box
DV-24p
DV-PAL
exported to DVD in premier Pro with fields order Lower first, and kept quality low.
and then I got this interlace artifacts problem when I ran it on a Plasma TV.

I am once again trying to export it with following settings

Export video DV 24PA
Aspect PAL 16:9
Deinterlaced checked
Field preferance None.
Will that any good?

That's Premiere 2.0, right ? 1.5 has issues with some kinds of 24p. Specificially, trying to remove pulldown from 24p as if it were 24pA.

I'm confused by PAL with 24p. I thought PAL was 25p and NTSC was 24p.

What do you mean by this?
If you have a NTSC DVX and you shot your stuff in 24p, use the 'DV - NTSC' preset as your timeline. If you shot your stuff in 24pa, use 'DV - 24p' as your preset. If you have a PAL DVX, use 'DV - PAL.' If you have the timeline setup properly, you shouldn't have to change any of the 'interpret footage' settings.

Tell us what camera you have (NTSC or PAL) and what format you shot on (24p, 24pa, or 25p), and we'll be able to further help you.
